To Pimp a Swastika: Donald Trump and the Seventh Reich

I love Hitler. He’s one of the funniest people in history.

It is wild and amazing and pathetic and sad that this outright clown, a man that, along with his hilarious book Mein Kampf, should have gone down along the annals of posterity as the joke he really was, got treated so seriously that his fuckery was allowed to cost a single life, let alone 6 million Jews and the millions lost in the conflict that was World War II.

But what should we expect when a dupe gets elevated to the level of Supreme Chancellor? He damn sure wasn’t picked for his brains to play that role.

When American moneymen went looking for a stooge to wage the worldwide coup that eventually spun out of control because of its inability to sustain a similar upheaval in the US, they couldn’t have picked a better fool than the Austrian frogmouth; long on verbiage, short on theory, absent reasoning.

And the poor German people were so ripe.

Still licking their wounds from WWI, humiliated and embarrassed, afraid that at any moment some predatory nation could swoop down and devour them, and needing a steroid-induced shot of National Pride.

Hitler came along offering just that; pride and nothing else. Sing our songs, wear our clothes, dance and march in a straight line, we’ll invent an enemy, meanwhile motioning to Prescott Bush with his thumb and invoking the old Wizard of Oz adage, “pay no attention to the man behind that curtain“.

Now, here we are as Americans. We haven’t lost a war. We’ve got nothing to be embarrassed about. As a nation, who’s fucking with us? Muslims? They’re not even a country!

But Donald Trump has emerged to pick up those old Hitlarian props of fear and loss of pride and manipulate them into potentially staging a coup of his own. And too large a segment of the American people seem strangely ripe.

Maybe it’s the Black President that’s hurt some of the national pride. America certainly wasn’t founded for the prospect of a Black President.

Shit, when America was founded, dudes like Obama were written into the Constitution as only 3/5 of a human being!

Now, how can 3/5 of a person run a whole country?

And there’s also that perilous link between Barack Obama and Islam. His real pops, Barack Obama Sr., was a Muslim-turned-atheist and his step pops, Lolo Soetoro, was a nominal Muslim. His mother and the white grandparents that raised him were all Christian.

I guess that means Islam must like Blackness: you get one drop of it, you’re all in.

Still, it’s chilling to imagine that so large a segment of the American public might be as stupid as to allow Donald Trump to flimsily tie in their inherent hatred of Barack Obama to some sort of baseless Muslim paranoia and then allow that fear-based tie-in to project him, Trump, all the way into the White House.

Because that’s clearly the hustle Trump’s going with.

All that’s missing is the logo.
